Ephesians 5:21

Instructions for Christian Households

21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

… ONE ANOTHER…” Paul had a whole list of “one anothers”.  In case you’ve forgotten, or maybe you’ve never heard or read, here is a shortlist:

submit to one another

forgive one another

encourage one another

restore one another

accept one another

care for one another

bear with one another

carry one another’s burdens

Pastor Andy Stanley in his book, Irresistible, deserves the credit for reminding me of this list. Paul deserves credit for making the list. But Jesus is the one who LIVED the list. To quote Andy Stanley, “This is faith expressing itself through love.

Which of the “one anothers” is the most difficult for you?  If we were to evaluate how our faith is expressed in love, how we love like Jesus by the list, what would our score be? It is difficult to submit, to accept, to forgive, to bear with someone.  Take a moment and read the list.  Where do we need to grow in Jesus Love?

Lord, each day may I consider the “one anothers” as I seek to love like Jesus. In Christ’s name, Amen.
